Magical Girl Reference

Team member Yu found this helpful information regarding anime transformation scenes. He is going to incorporate elements when he works on the magical Transformation. 

Transformation sequences are often used as stock animations that appear in almost all episodes. They hire good animators to animate those scenes so people don't mind to watch them every week.

Updated Log Line and Elevator Pitch

An ordinary girl calls upon her magical transformation powers to open a jar of mayonnaise, and using her newly unleashed abilities she embarks on the adventures of her ordinary life.

My film is a Flash animation comedy spoof that takes a modern american college student and gives her magical anime girl powers. The story follows her as she attempts the mundane task of making a sandwich, and what happens when she calls on her transformation powers to open the Mayo jar. The style of animation will be very american but when our heroine magically transforms, the style changes to an anime look and sound with traditional 90s anime tropes.

Magical Girl Color Treatment

Here is the multiple color treatment team member Yu did for Mandy's magical look.

For the colors, we decided to go with the color palette of the figure on the far right. However, we decided the sword hilt should be gold and with a white blade.

This is a test image and if time permits for the final film, we will have the background elements animated in After Effects. It looks so magical and pretty!
